about
Ahead of the release of his second album, HONEYCOMB, jitwam drops its first single, “temptations”, on March 6th, 2019. A classic soul joint of the highest caliber, the song features his most sensual guitar work yet and Marie Bashiru on backing vocals. Taking R&B back to its roots, it’s a heart-melting homage to late-night love affairs.
“'Temptations' is an ode to the forbidden fruit we all face in our life…with focus, discipline and respect, you can learn to direct the changes that happen into something you can grow from,” jitwam says.
Co-produced with Natureboy Flako, “temptations” showcases jitwam’s songwriting chops and affinity for broken microphone blues, freeing him from the constraints of the dance floor and opening the door to new musical identities. Stitching together disparate ideas, he delivers some of the warmest music you’ll hear all year.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
